Right now:
- I’m getting back into Clone Hero
- I’m checking out this cool online Beat Music Sequence site
- About to start Muse Dash for the first time ever
- Looking for my Wacom drawing tablet to tryout osu! for the first time
Just got back into OSU! A few months ago and am playing a little bit of Clone Hero after a few years of not having a computer.
Clone Hero is way different than I remember, looks like while I was gone the game had the full release, and OSU! Is just the thing I play every few months after I decide I’m going to quit OSU! For real this time.
Have been getting back into Stepmania and DDR.
Ended up getting on the waitlist to buy a Compact Machine for StepmaniaX, which’ll be available in August. Cannot wait for that to come in as I want to use it to lose weight and increase my fitness.
Note that SM and SMX are not the same game. SMX is a 5-panel arcade game initially made by Kyle Ward of In the Groove fame. Came out in 2018 and has seriously grown a lot since. Now has 350+ songs with more each month. Major chains are doing location tests for it too as Round1 has theirs at their Great Lakes Crossing one.
You can use the stages/pads for regular Stepmania, but you cannot simply download StepmaniaX and play it on your own.
Outside of that, I’m playing a bunch of arcade-based rhythm games as well. Museca is still a lot of fun with the Museca+ custom content, but the game kills my hands. Trying to improve at IIDX but scratching is still the bane of my existence. Currently at a plateau with Chunithm as well with a ~11.45 rating as the charts get to be a mess to sight-read around this point.
still playing rock band 3/4 lol
i wanna get back into clone hero but i got a new computer and havent set it up yet
Oh, man. clone hero is so worth it. You should so set it up.
I am a little bit jealous that you have rock band 3 though. I miss rockband. Playing the charts on Clone Hero just isn’t the same.
at least with clone hero, there are charts of rock band songs without big rock endings, bodhisattva is a particularly difficult one on guitar
Good old beatmania IIDX. Converted as my main arcade rhythm game since the latest 30 Resident version.
I haven’t had a chance to try that yet? How do you play it? Like on computer, a cabinet, and what controller do you use?
I live in Asia where arcades are still a thing. I do know some people use IIDX controllers and play with either a HDD rip (basically a cracked copy of the cabinet software) or IIDX Infinitas.
I actually have an arcade near me too like that. It’s such an awesome experience. Sadly it’s missing beat mania.
Playing Dance Rail, a mobile game extremely similar to Chunithm with simple and cleaner UI (depend on which theme you choose), customisable notes sensory (registration of notes such as “Very Easy” which make the registration easier by holding, or “Very Hard” which make registration to be precise when hitting the note), and some of the songs have special gimmicks to it such as one being a literal math quiz. This is just an outlines of the game but it’s a fun game to play in free times.
On an additional note, there’s a sequel called Dance Rail3 available, either play the original or the sequel.
Muse Dash is one of my favorites, you’re in for a banger
I fell off from practicing most of my games for a while but I started playing Phigros a month ago and it’s really captivated me. I haven’t had too many memorable “wow” moments with many other games for quite some time, but it’s happening regularly now that I am playing IN and AT Phigros charts. Muse Dash is the other game that did this for me in the last few years (and still my favorite) but Phigros is on another level with the chart design.
Kinda want to get back on the Clone Hero grind as well but both my guitars are having some issues and I can’t be bothered to open them up right now.
Perpetually craving DJ MAX but salty that I bought everything on PS4
I’ve been playing Phigros for a while now but since the updates are slow I started playing Project Sekai as well

Brawl Stars, it’s a pretty chill and not pay2win for a mobile game
i discovered ddr in arcade while travelling, then wanted to play it at home but realized you needed to buy some ltek mat at 250€, and ended up getting back playing osu! and buying a plastic guitar 10 bucks for guitar hero.
