    I believe help could come from their border with Egypt at that point.

      Yep. Israel is likely to build a heavily defended 50’ tall border wall, stop supply services to Gaza, and relinquish all control of the Rafah Crossing at the Egyptian border. It would effectively make the Gaza Strip and whatever happens inside it not their problem.
