Spooky Halloween shirt complete!
Husband has always fancied a proper cool Halloween shirt, so I picked this fabric in secret and banned him from the sewing room until it was complete.
I could only afford the absolute bare minimum yardage, and didn’t have much control over pattern placement (also no room for cutting errors, eek!)
But it all worked out and as of tonight he’s seen it and tried it on and appears to love it. All good!
I will get proper posed photos at some point but for now here it is on my decidedly more curvy dress form!
Main annoyance is that my topstitching is a bit wonky, and I’m normally pretty good at topstitching. Oh well.

Holy shit this is awesome
So dope.
Ta. He certainly seems very pleased with it!
This is amazing! Love it… thanks for sharing!
Cheers!
Super jealous. That’s such a cool shirt.
Thanks, I’m properly proud of myself 😄
I love your pattern matching! The “covered by the buttonband” illusion is great. Also, it seems to me that the pattern placement works great as it is.
And you are super punctual, having the shirt done and pressed before the pre-Halloween weekend even begins!
@weirdsquid I’d love to claim that the button band thing was on purpose! Ideally the pumpkins wouldn’t be quite so “on the boobs” but needs must when you have the minimum fabric I suppose.
But the pattern matching on the pocket definitely *was* on purpose, and I’m proud of that part 😂
We’ll be doing our annual Spooktacular movie marathon tomorrow so naturally it needed to be ready by then!
OMG I hadn’t seen the pocket!
Very well done!
@weirdsquid Pretty sure if you can’t see it that means it was a success, so thanks! 😆
HUGE success! Really great work, I was also tricked haha
As a huge fan of hawaiian shirts, this is fucking awesome!
@thegiddystitcher @sewing wow that looks great! Excellent work!
@thegiddystitcher @sewing So fun! Happy Halloween!
