    Control Flames

You choose nonmagical flame that you can see within range and that fits within a 5-foot cube. You affect it in one of the following ways:

You instantaneously extinguish the flames within the cube

    I turn off the sun

And dumping the sun’s volume of water on it won’t put it out. If anything all that extra hydrogen will make it “burn” hotter and longer.

This is a month old at this point but I just wanted to point out that if the sun burns hotter/ gets more massive it would burn out faster!

Or to the extent it is on fire, suddenly going out would not last, since the collapse would recompress its gases and ignite fusion.

So eight minutes from now the sun would blink out and then gradually come back on.

Of course that’s assuming real-world physics like the speed of light and the orbit of Earth. In a fantasy setting the sun might literally be “a hot rock.” Or more interestingly: an eldritch abomination. Either a gateway to an elemental plane of quite a lot of fire, or an entity itself, so large and powerful that we merely exist between its gravitational pull and incandescent energy.
