Another poorly studied owl of India and SE Asia.
The one interesting fact I could find was about their nesting habits. Most owls don’t make their own nest, instead reusing an old home of another animal. But unlike many that nest mainly in tree cavities or rock crevices, this owl prefers used stork nests, specifically in Ficus trees. They will nest in stork nests in other trees, but there is strong preference for Ficus. Eucalyptus seems to be the second best.
Dusky babies in a storm nest. I’m even less a botanist than an ornithologist, so don’t ask me what type of tree that is! 😉
Very long and leggy look. Looks like a knock off of Batman or a drab All Might (Owl Might?)
Raise periscope!
Coming in after a loooong night.
They have a look like they’re tired of your shit in every pic. Superb!
Owls show a great variety of emotions, it’s just 99% of them are negative!
The last one is “would you look at this bitch!”
That one is definitely my favorite of the batch.
Superb!
I’m glad you like him!
I’m happy I’m still finding some new and distinct owls.
There’s over 200 kinds of owl, but many of them look pretty identical, it’s more of a Owl A is only found on Island X and Owl B looks pretty identical but is only found in Mountain Range Z.
