Videocardz had posted this rumor earlier and then took it down. I’m wondering if it was debunked.

Update 07:45 UTC: We’ve heard from workers at EVGA Spain “it’s just another day at the office”. So maybe it was only Kingpin/the OC team in TW that has resigned, or the whole story is completely untrue.
Update 16:41 UTC: We just received the following statement from EVGA:
We saw those message and they are rumors. Our Taiwan office is still operating and Kingpin is still with EVGA. EVGA is still doing business and supporting its customers. Thanks for reaching out
I actually had no idea EVGA made motherboards at all until I saw this. Last thing I bought from them was a power supply many years ago. Whatever the case, it sounds like this has been debunked.
Back when they were somewhat reasonably priced I bought a x58 SLI LE for my i7 920 and a Z97 FTW for my 4690k. For me they were both excellent boards and were rock solid. I wanted to go with them again when I upgraded to my 10700k but they just became to damn expensive. Instead I went with MSI and it’s just… okay.
Maybe if their mainboards didnt cost $500 more people would buy them. And the cheapest power supplies they have are like $100+ now, they used to be like $40
I’m still struggling to understand their withdrawal from the GPU market, and now this? Does EVGA not want to exist?
NVIDIA priced them out. They would have made zero profit from the 4xxx cars. Not sure why they would back out of motherboards. They are still making power supplies…for now.
IIRC they’re a totally private company and in one interview about the graphics card exit it honestly sounds like the founders/owners would rather go out of business than tarnish their reputation even by selling to someone else. So yeah it’s possible they’re just winding the whole thing down.
I remember when evga left the gpu market the nvidia ceo said something to the effect of “he’s just winding down his business before he retires.” I have no idea, obviously, but if this does happen it could lead credence to that.
It’s pretty clear that EVGA was not going to be able to make any profit at all while keeping their customer service as excellent as it is. Nvidia just started squeezing board partners too much.
They want to open a food truck from what I heard.
Steve on Gamers Nexus alluded to this in a recent video, I mean it’s all still rumors, but the vibe I got is that EVGA’s owner(s?) want to retire and shut down the company instead of selling it/etc. Sucks, but if the owners don’t want to do it any more, and they don’t think anyone else could run it the way they want, I kinda get it.
Gamer’s Nexus seems to corroborate this in a recent news video, with clip from Kingpin himself insinuating as much. Link to video with timestamp
