Nah, they’re actually sentient. Science has known this for a while, but even without us cooking them they actively want to end all life on earth as painfully as possible, so we don’t care and continue to eat them anyway. Ignore their screaming, they would do the same to you and everything you have ever loved if they had the chance (including other potatoes)
