The all-white judges of Louisiana’s 5th Circuit Court of Appeal systematically ignored thousands of claims from prisoners, most of them Black, who said they had been wrongly convicted. Efforts to expose the decadelong injustice went unheard.

The failure of SCOTUS to recognize their complicity in Louisiana’s lackadaisical, and fundamentally illegal, judicial oversight is what is so gd shitty about this whole thing. Their belief that the lower state courts would take care of the issues, when in fact the lower courts WERE the fucking issue, is sad at best and destructive at worst.

America has no real justice at its core, and if nothing else that proves it doesn’t give a shit about its people. It has become a nation who’s more concerned about the wealth and privilege it protects than the actual people who live under its power.

I honestly believe this is a massive part of the guns issue. Why would you ever give up your weapons when you have near-infinite evidence your government hates you, and in fact gleefully works for the guarantors of your destruction? That’s just plain sucker shit.

And I’d say all the messed up systems we have that keep people in fear , stress, distrust ETC, have a lot to do with why mass shootings occur. People lose their fucking mind after a while and some resort to shooting up anyone and everyone including themselves after it’s all done and said.

We the people really need something besides just voting to make the politicians listen to us. I think we hear each other just fine; but we need a plan now. The politicians aren’t gonna do shit for us. So it’s time for us the people to get along and do something about our predicament ourselves (obviously through nonviolent means).

we cut all social safety nets to the bone, cut all public mental healthcare, privatized any decent schooling and then made sure there are more guns than people.

blame conservatives. blame republicans. blame capitalists who feel that the world can be fixed by business.

we were doing really well until they removed that 90%+ tax on the wealthy, and then forced everyone to be ‘invested’ in the scam that is the stock market for our retirements.

          scum.of.the.earth.

SCOTUS too busy hearing and ruling in favor of the strawman cases from the ADF and their ilk.
