I’ve completely lost confidence in this team and Arthur Smith. We lost today to a Vikings team with a 3rd string quarterback who wasn’t even on the team until midweek. Even with our offensive struggles, the defense has been standing strong this season, but today they allowed the Vikings to walk up and down the field, blowing coverages and missing tackles. It doesn’t look like we can even win the NFC South, which is a dumpster fire of a division, and we’re wasting the potential of some players who should be stars lighting up the league. Instead, we look completely incompetent.
I admire Arthur Blank’s loyalty to his coach, but I don’t believe Arthur Smith is it. He’s supposed to be an offensive genius, utilizing a pounding running game, but his play calls are head scratching. When he should be running, he’s throwing the ball, and vice versa. It seems like he thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room, doing what nobody expects, but it’s not working. And this is the third year it’s not been working. He’s the one that stood by Desmond Ridder, and now that looks like a complete bust. He has to be the one held accountable, and it’s time for a change.
I’m happy to see more time at it. We doing bout the same as we always do, so why change the coach rn. Atleast wait til off season and let new couch draft accordingly.
Because at this point if we got hot, we could win the NFC South and maybe make some noise in the playoffs. We’ve got the pieces, we just need someone to competently put them all together. It’s becoming more and more clear that Smith is not the one to do that.
A lot of bad teams in the NFL unfortunately Atlanta is one of them, It’s a QB league and you don’t have one
With all our offensive weapons, we just need a competent QB - a game manager if you will. And both Ridder & Heinieke could be that, but Arthur Smith’s head-scratching offensive plans don’t put them in situations to succeed. Like I said, he calls some truly baffling plays sometimes, and it seems like it’s because he thinks he can outsmart the opposition. But it isn’t working at all.
Something needs to change, and the buck stops with the head coach. Blank was loyal to and held on to Quinn too long, and we see how that turned out.
This article says what I was trying to say in much more detail.
