Kinda stupid question but here it goes. Has there been any recent news on AFMF coming to RX 6000 series?
I know there is a preview driver for it but I’m talking actual stable release. I can assume that it’s hard to implement so that explains why it’s already been a month since the preview driver.
Any thoughts?
I’ve been using the preview drivers for a while and it’s fine
I don’t think that the 7000 series even got stable afmf drivers because afmf is to be released somewhere 2024.
I run the preview drivers in my 6800xt it’s entirely flawless.
My experience has been very stable so far but i can trigger some really odd behaviour, when i set FSR2 in diablo 4 i could make my system act very weird when moving mouse i would hear those beeps altho if had that even without and its super rare.
It’s as if all usb dropped out and all my devices act as if they are different devices, mouse sends morse code to sound, keyboard acts like mouse etc etc
There’s no stable release, the preview driver is the only driver currently, for both 6000 and 7000 series cards.
even for the 7000 series
I am using the preview drivers and enjoying it playing Starfield
WQhy does it say oct 17 if its said to be nov 9 driver?
good catch, something is coming , we have to keep watching
Looks like they are planning an update to the preview driver today but the download links in the release notes have not been updated yet.
New Beta Driver now available for afmf for nov 9th
2024 bruh
9 november driver removed smart video support for ryzen 5000 series now requires ryzen 6000 series, i did not even know ryzen 6000 series existed.
Yeah, in APUs. I believe, especially for Laptops/prebuilds and stuff.
The only AFMF driver is the tech preview driver for both 6000 and 7000 series. They said that the final version will be released sometime in Q1 2024.
The latest preview driver was dated Oct 17th, I’m running it now, and it is 100% stable. It doesn’t crash. If it did, I wouldn’t use it. It makes a difference. Don’t assume it isn’t a stable driver. In BG3 it gives me a 20-40 fps boost at 4k over the most recent regular driver.

Does it feel smooth in the games you tried?
from my experience, AFMF works a lot smoother on 1080p/1440p, the feels on using it on 4k resolution is ok but its not as smooth at lower resolutions
Very smooth @ 4k. Very nice. Main thing is that it isn’t a bug fest waiting to crash…;) It’s not optimized for the very latest titles, but games like BG3 run very nicely and kick out a frame-rate that is appreciably higher, if that’s what you are after. No reason to fear using the driver.
Next year
They stated 1st quarter 2024 and that was for the 7 series. They need time to sort it out and tweak it before it gets a general launch
They said from the beginning that the full launch was in 2024
