I have an AMD FW 13" and the POST times are, for a notebook, quite long - my older notebooks posted quicker, including the AMD GEN1 Thinkpad I had

Anyone else “feeling” this way?

    I think this is a DDR5 thing. My 7 year old desktop boots faster than my brand new desktop due to DDR5 having to recheck itself every boot to ensure its got consistent timings

    My Dell Inspiron 14 with 5500u definitely posts quicker. I’m using the same drive with a fresh install.

    But I assume this is to do with the bios and error checking. As the bios matures I would expect it to improve.

    I think I might be sidestepping this one by rarely shutting down the machine in the first place, just suspending it. Resume times are near instant for me…
