Ripping a board that I milled from a cedar I recently cut down. Made the initial cuts with a chainsaw and used the Craftsman to straighten it out. There are honestly better tools for this but it’s a one time project I’m working with what I’ve got.

This is the first time I’ve tried this so it’s kind of an experiment. I’ll probably let it air dry for about a year (mostly because I won’t have time to do anything with it until then). I read sealing the ends and weighting it down helps prevent warping.
The direction of the grain relative to the board makes a big difference. Quarter sawing is supposed to get the best boards out of a log.
