    Just chiming in here, as an owner of a $2000+ when new 2017 macbook pro that apparently isn’t even being covered despite being susceptible to the same issue. It makes me feel like this investment is a waste and a ticking time bomb.

    I still have a 2012 macbook pro in working condition as well, and I expect Apple products to have a long lifespan for how much they cost. Design flaws and known issues must be addressed, and Apple should be held to this higher standard because of their premium price tag and high company market cap value due to their reputation. If they lose their reputation for quality products and support they won’t be able to charge premium prices or sustain their valuation.
