Planning to upgrade… Is this processor enough for gaming at 1080p? Planning to pair it with an RTX 4060 16GB VRAM and 32 GB DDR5 RAM.

    A 12400 non K is enough for 4K lol.

    Funny fact, higher res = less to no difference from CPU because of GPU bottleneck.

    Depends on which game you would love to play and what fps targets are you aiming for, if it’s for competitive fps multiplayer with high refresh rate monitor then it would still be good but will be CPU limited at those resolution rather than using 14700k or 14900k, if your target is 60 fps for single player games then it’s more than enough.

    Yes, of course. It is one of the best CPU to get right now and it is very powerful when gaming at 1080p.

    It’s more than enough, unless you seek 400fps paired with a 4090, then 14900k or 7800x3D would do a bit better (around +5%)

    If you primary game you should a 12400f or a 12100f and spend the saved money on a much better gpu like the 4070 or the 7800xt
