I am curious about why this form factor is so much more popular than mini laptop like GPD Win Max 2
It has a smaller footprint making it easier to carry. The fact that it is a fully enclosed laptop means, you don’t need a carrying case. You aren’t going to accidentally snag a joystick and break it off while it is in your bag without a case.
You also have a normal keyboard and mouse which lets you use it a standard laptop. Windows UI is build around the use of keyboard and mouse and this provides it.
I don’t know why it’s more popular than a laptop. You can get one with similar APU and use KB+M or a BT controller. Plus you get, you know, a usable laptop in the deal.

I assume this form factor is more ergonomic to hold in the hand.
As someone who has a Win Max 2, yeah it’s not very comfortable to hold for very long.

Because a handheld you can play anywhere? If you’re laying on your couch/in bed or on the toilet, have fun trying to use your laptop.
I’ve had fun with my laptop though?
