I have 2 accounts on 2 different instances. Lemmy.world and lemdro.id

When I open lift off it’s always set to the lemdro.id account even though lemmy.world was logged in first. Also how do I tell which account I’m currently using other than to go to the account tab at the bottom?

At the top, when you select subscribed, local or all, it’s per instance. The account of that instance is what you use.

When you want to change the default account that is used on opening the app, select inbox (bell top left) and select the account you want as default. (Select the bar and then select the account you want to use)

Liftoff is great for two accounts but I find it gets really, really, annoying if you have more. I have a world acct as a backup but I don’t use it and having it signed in just ruined everything lol.

As far as I can tell, you are logged into both; if you vote or reply or save a post, it will do so on the account of the instance you’re browsing from. Now this can be confusing, because you can be looking at a post on lemmy.world through lemdo.id and upvote it on there, then if you browse through lemmy.world you can upvote the same post again with that account.

I personally try to avoid upvoting the same thing through multiple accounts (I have this one, but sometimes browse through beehaw) but it doesn’t seem like there’s any protections against doing so right now

Yeah. I think I get how it works now. I will post/comment from whichever instance I choose to browse from at the top on the app. I don’t know if its possible with lemmy but it would be cool to be able o choose the account you are posting/commenting with from inside the post/comment you are making. Was a feature on Sync that I used sometimes.

      Thank you for the help
