Yeah but when you see a rise in broken, sociopathic politicians in one country, the response isn’t supposed to be “hold my Paczki and watch THIS”

Counter argument, Russian interference and political undermining has a direct and indirect influence on global politics.

“Russia should “introduce geopolitical disorder into internal American activity, encouraging all kinds of separatism and ethnic, social and racial conflicts, actively supporting all dissident movements – extremist, racist, and sectarian groups, thus destabilizing internal political processes in the U.S. It would also make sense simultaneously to support isolationist tendencies in American politics”.”

It’s less wacky politicians (though there undoubtedly are some that actually believe that) and more nationalist propaganda - showing Poland as an island of righteousness against the removed west or something. It’s an attempt by the far-right Law and Justice Party to gain support via culture war and shocking people into disgust and hoping they back you based on that. Even at the cost of pretty blatant lies.

It works on my family, at least in part. 😕

Nah, it’s just American politics imported. Estonian far right party tried it with gay people but it got them ridiculed instead because same sex marriage wasn’t even legan then but they made it into a hot enough of an issue that after losing our government signed a law that does legalise it starting next year.

I’m guessing Estonia will get the “save the children” narrative for our next national election, I’m hoping that will end up making stuff better for trans people instead.
