The ASRock 4X4 BOX-7840U offers near-class-leading number-crunching capabilities while consuming less power than its direct competition. Additionally, it is easier to work on and upgrade, making it a well-rounded system for a home office, casual gaming, or emulation.
I’ve always found the idea of these interesting (not this particular box, but mucs in general), but at the end of the day, I’ve always ended up with a VM instead.
What do y’all use yours for? Why dedicated hardware over a VM or a docker setup? Or purpose built hardware like a NAS?
