Hello all, I’ve spent all day trying to figure this out but I’m at a loss. I was planning on undervolting and overclocking my 13900k but wanted to see the performance on stock settings before any changes. However, the stress tests I’ve done either immediately crash the application (Cinebench) or immediately crash my entire PC resulting in a BSOD (Prime95). I admit that I have turned on XMP for my DDR5 RAM in the BIOS, my MOBO being the MSI PRO Z790-A. I’d appreciate any help with figuring this out since I’m afraid that I’ll have stability issues in gaming and multitasking if my PC cannot handle these tests as I’ve seen from other users in this subreddit and elsewhere. I have surfed different subreddits and YouTube videos, but I’m still lost. Would any fellow 13900k users, on MSI MOBOs preferably, be able to help? I have a custom water-cooled PC with two monitors, if that means anything. Thank you!

I think your problem is related to memory. Are you certain that your DDR5 is on the list for your mobo? I had very similar issues with my 13900k. DDR5 is still very new and motherboards can struggle.

Hello, I have checked and my specific RAM is supported by my MOBO. I’ll still review the RAM settings in the BIOS, and I can understand how DDR5 might be causing issues by virtue of its relatively newer nature.
