So my freenas plex library is pretty hefty now at 70tb.
I need a backup solution as I’m running a Z1 array and I’m constantly afraid of 2 drives failing.
What’s the cheapest local solution for mass amounts of data? I don’t mind paying for a veam subscription and I’m hoping to have everything run over 10gb (I’m already set up for it)
Is there any loader that can be had for less than $1000 that’s dependable? I’d like to stick to LTO9 as I’m looking at 5-6 tapes for now till the library grows larger.
Used equipment is fine as well.

I’ve also looked into this for nearly identical reasons and I’m sorry to say that even on the used market 1k buys you LTO 5 or maybe 6 if you’re likely. If you want LTO9 you’ll need a much bigger budget sadly.
