Not sure what game some people watched but Doku did fuck all. If sprinting into space and dribbling the ball out for a goal kick or smashing it into the first defender is a world class performance then wilfred zaha is the best winger in the world
Yeah, get the highest match rating of any player from Opta by doing “fuck all”.
Who gives a shit anout some made ip rating that over values dribbles. 70% of the time he got the ball he blasted it to the first defender or dribbled out the goal line for a goal kick lmao
He’s going to be a better player but the praise for this performance reminds me a lot of Adama Traore’s early Wolves days. He was absolutely unplayable and a menace every time he stepped on the pitch, and finished the season with 1 goal and 3 assists.
All the flair with none of the end product.
Doku finished the Bournemouth game with 1 goal and 4 assists.
The absolute disrespect on the Wilf
Still made me worry every time he got the ball. People are saying no end product but all it takes is one well delivered ball to the box and they’ve got enough people who can finish. Luckily he couldn’t manage that today
He did manage it a few times, City’s players just couldn’t put it in the back of the net (partly do to bad finishing and partly due to Liverpool players blocking shots).
There is a reason he got MOTM from Opta without having scored or assisted.
Hard to see Grealish playing ahead of Doku now, he’s improving with every game imo
I used to be so afraid of Phil Foden, but… honestly it feels like he’s regressed a bit.
He wants to play central but Alverez took his spot. Grealish and Doku start over him wide, so he probably feels threatened.
It’s a system thing, Alvarez and Foden usually play on opposite sides of midfield. Pep prefers a left footer on the left of midfield and vice versa, the problem is when City move to their 442 shape in defence neither Alvarez nor Foden can play alongside Rodri so Bernardo has to play.
If Alvarez gets dropped it means Lewis or Nunes can play on the right of midfield, Foden plays on the left of midfield and Bernardo can play RW. In the Leipzig game we saw exactly this and it was probably City’s best performance all season.
I’m glad Haaland’s ankle healed in time for him to score against us and break another record.
His mechanic worked overtime.
and Ederson was also fit when he didnt even travel with Brazil
Pretty dull match but fair result for both. Both teams played quite defensive instead of going for goals.
We are so wasteful its ridiculous. Shit performances all around and we got no subs. In January transfer window, we need someone that is at least one tailnaol worth of KDB.
City and no subs? Are you talking about the subreddit perhaps?
2/8 of the bench was goalkeepers??
Unironically hilarious
Lucky result for Liverpool. Incredible how Allison poor distribution didn’t cost us.
Unlucky depending on how you view that mistake influencing the match.
Why are 12 30 games a little less energetic? Just because it’s earlier people are a bit less awake?
Something to do with it generally but this was off the back of internationals so half of them will have played a lot of football, travelled for a full day and are jet lagged
Klopp said they had one session, can’t imagine City were any different.
Puttting this game after the international break on a 12:30 ko is fucking criminal. Both teams far from their best
People are so desperate for a narrative on the Doku Trent battle when in truth Trent was fine and Doku made a few nice twist and turns without much end product.
Bore off.
Chanting feed the scouser all match and then get shushed by the scouser equalizing. You fucking love to see it.
I’ve always wondered…
We’re socioeconomic conditions at all different between cities 20 miles apart? Seems so strange to me.
At various times both cities have thrived though Liverpool’s decline from one of the world’s foremost ports and probably England’s second most important City was directly linked to Manchester’s development. There was a historic rivalry in regards to employment and industry between the cities as well as your typical neighbours rivalry. In more recent years it’s a popular trope (perpetuated by the media both news and pop culture) that scousers are unemployed (linked to the heavy unemployment numbers in the 80s, which ironically Manchester also dealt with), thieves and overly reliant on benefits. Scousers are very proud people and moreso than most cities feel independent from England (in part due to the treatment of the city under Thatchers government, which actively avoided supporting the city) so its an easy sticking point to make light of those struggles.
All in all though Manchester has a higher child poverty rate and a slightly lower (though still top 10 in the UK) unemployment rate than Liverpool but they aren’t typically known for being poor thus don’t get abuse for it. And despite the fact that we should be showing solidarity in our struggles it’s more important in football to windup your rivals regardless of subject matter.
Football fans of both clubs have far more in common than many realise.
City should’ve won that game…I honestly feel let down by them, even though I know that’s just football
Plastic fan
😊
Has no one thought of the poor city fans being let down by a draw!?
Pep made no subs. Why not give someone like Kalvin Philips a chance?
because we weren’t up 4 nil, he may have gotten a cameo if that was the case lol
He’s not good enough.
Pep said to Nunez “you are going up”, because he knows - “Chaos is a laddah!”
“You are more beautiful than your mother ever was SansaH” 🤮 sorry just laughing because I quoted the same thing you did earlier today lmao
Great watch as neutral/hater
