I purchased an 11400 off ebay to replace the G6400 in my pfsense router. Before I do the CPU swap I just wanted to confirm, is it possible to set PL1 and PL2 to 4096 (unlimited) on a non-K seriess? i.e. unlimited 4.4Ghz single core. The BIOS supports these settings, I checked that before ordering. I just want to make sure it’s possible before doing the dreaded downtime. Thanks

As long as your BIOS supports it you can change the power of any Intel processor to whatever you want. K/non-K is for overclocking, not power limits.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I am indeed aware of non-K/K series, just wanted to confirm that it’s possible to control PL1 and PL2 on non-K series. The BIOS manual seems to suggest it is as well. Thanks again :-)
