I have installed the ea app through lutris, but when I click on titanfall in steam it says it is running ea app installer, a popup ea window opens and crashes immediatly

The EA Launcher seems to have really fucked Linux users over, and I haven’t seen any fix for it so far. I started a new playthrough of Mass Effect on Steam Deck which I had to abandon also.

Ooh I hadn’t thought of that! While I do feel a bit bristly about running Steam to run Heroic Launcher to run the EA Launcher to launch a game, I’ll give it a shot anyway. That’s gaming in 2023 I guess lol.

        Thanks for the suggestion!

heroic games launcher with the latest proton ge version selected in the wine manager tab installs and runs ea app, bf1, bf3, and sims4 no problem for me. don’t have titanfall to test it specifically.

Just don’t buy EA games. Sail the seven seas for them or something. I know it’s hard but it’s so much better than buying them…

I bought this game 3 years ago and it is an online game. How is piracy a good option here

Maybe the pirated copy strips the launcher, which could make the game run better. That’s fairly common.

It absolutely is, but the single player is well regarded and maybe worth getting the game even if you don’t want MP. I used to play COD SP only, and I could see someone wanting to play Titanfall 2 SP only, though the campaign is a lot shorter than most other FPS games.
