https://amzn.to/47AJmOg its only gen 3 speeds but still something like this cost an arm and a leg when i bought one for my desktop. And apparently gen 3 is better for battery life anyway.

    I am wondering why Framework is overcharging massively for SSD’s (and RAM) when configuring laptops on their site?

    For example they are asking £229 for a WD SN770 2TB SSD when you can buy it separately for £85 on Amazon!

      They ordered these much earlier and in a limited quantity, before manufacturers dropped prices

        Yeah part of what Framework wants to do is keep stable prices. That means overcharge for volatile components.

      Most laptop manufacturers overcharge on RAM and storage as it’s one of the main places they actually make a profit. Framework is not immune to this and does it too. But if the prices bother you guess what! Its framework so you can just buy whatever you want. I think of the overcharge as kinda a donation to Framework.
