  • Hi, I’m getting my new workstation this week. I mostly do 3D work and rendering and such things, not so much gaming but sometimes. I opted for “a quiet and cool system” featuring the i9-14900K and the RTX 4090 Founders Edition and 128 GB RAM. Not sure how cool it can get, but I chose the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360-AIO for cooling. And 360 fans in the front and one 120 in the back.

The company who’s building the machine, recommended me to go with a larger silenced chassi for better air flow. So we chose the “Be Quiet Silent Base 802” with solid side panels and mesh in the front and mesh in the top. Glass panels would look good, but they said it will produce more noise. This is a large chassi, but I hope it will help with the temps.

Just curious, what kind of chassis do you use when you have the RTX 3090 or 4090 installed and reach 90+ degrees C on the CPU? My old chassi, a Fractal Design R6, is solid and pretty all panels are closed everywhere… I tried a RTX 3090 in this some years ago, but it got hot and the GPU fans were killing me, so I sold it. Hope this new bigger chassi will be better.
