Some interesting minor changes here:
Death-on-downed chance now applies to several non damage health state changes. (Heatstroke, hypothermia, tox gas, lung rot) - can’t use hotbox to guarantee loads of prisoners anymore.
Things to load into transport pods can now be changed at any time. - modify pod contents mid-load!
Loudspeakers and lightballs can now be switched on and off. - no more uninstalling to save power.
Getting mad Tenochtitlan vibes
The point of this spell is a first level “hide body”, which can arguably make it more useful than jump.
Goodbye
Cicadas. Enjoyed seeing brood 4 coming out in 2015 while at summer camp.
I recommend you try going for the charlon whitestone existing ship ending, you should get the quest for it pretty early game. It involves a pretty lengthy trek across the planet then defending a ship as it powers up, which should give you a chance to mess with a nomadic base style that requires you to make progress travelling while harvesting and transporting enough resources to build defenses.
The site is a link aggregator, posting links to other social media is kinda its schtick
FTL has held up surprisingly well
Looks a bit like galaxy on fire, anyone familiar with the game?
Might be worth repositioning some of the landmines or finding some way to funnel raiders into them, not sure it is worth the cost to only catch a couple raiders at most. What win are you going for?
Cool to see the creature wealth still increasing as the remaining pawns only get stronger after each reset
There are still an ungodly amount of mods for literally anything. All of the Vanilla Expanded mods are very high quality, plenty of older mods are still either updated or have been remade, and there are plenty that integrate with the new systems added by the DLC.
Campaign stories
Having the seppuku process be sort of unofficial/taboo but expected thing might be a solid theme to start with, like the official gives some sort of final-wordsy speech/document then heads off to his home alone. Everyone knows what he is doing and fully expects an obituary the next day, but nobody talks about it. The twist that involves your players might be the local CEO expecting foul play but not knowing specifics and breaking the taboo by sending either surveillance or a kill team to make sure he follows through. Players would have to find a way to either bribe or fool the CEO to ensure the official isn’t hunted or convince him to fake-seppuku in a way that wouldn’t leave a body, like driving off a cliff with his family or walking off into the woods. Instead of having to provide irrefutable evidence to the whole company, the players would only have to fool the CEO as long as the disappearance wasn’t unusual.
It’s similar to dwarf fortress, though with less depth in the system, less literal depth with no y-levels, and an infinitely better UI and visuals. The DLC are optional, comparable to large very well-polished mods so if you are hesitant no need to grab the full bundle.
Second this, FTL also has a pretty decent modding scene too
