It’s from the community r/196 on reddit which has migrated to !196[email protected] which is one of the largest communities to migrate here. There’s also [email protected] which was made about the same time and ended up being kind of the “unofficial” one whereas the one on it’s own instance has gotten more popular. “Rule” comes from the fact that it is a “rule” to post something there any time you visit.

Edited to include a summary of what I’ve done so far. I may try to go more in depth with it, but I am thinking of making a new post detailing what I did after I get it up and running fully functional. I’m attempting to set up a self hosted instance so that I can control who I’m Federated with or not. Probably will just keep it open though, and I’d have to be a real asshole to get my instance defederated anywhere lmao.
