Not “many people.” Americans. Americans find it hard to read. I’m not 100% sure but I’m fairly certain everyone else in the world agrees that either day/month/year or year/month/day is the best way to clearly indicate a date. You know, because big to small. America believes month/day/year for some stupid fucking reason.

Cuttlefishcarlto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Android users who don't use the stock launcher - what launcher do you use, and what do you like about it?English1·2 years agoWhat makes it unique?
It’s awesome how well d4 runs on the deck. I love it, if you’re into the game it’s well worth jumping through the hoops.
Cuttlefishcarlto Steam Deck@sopuli.xyz•How much do you use your deck? Was it a good purchase?27·2 years agoI use it every day, so much so that my main gaming PC barely gets used. I’m a dad now and it has made gaming not just possible but easy to do.
Cuttlefishcarlto News@lemmy.world•Family died in Rockies after trying to live ‘off the grid,’ official says2·2 years agoI think many people have that pull to nature, but most that do it and survive recognize that living without the infrastructure of the rest of humanity is at least extremely challenging and so will thoroughly prepare.
Cuttlefishcarlto News@lemmy.world•Family died in Rockies after trying to live ‘off the grid,’ official says781·2 years agoWhat a terrible way to go. They sounded less prepared than even Chris McCandless.
I can’t believe I’m recommending reality TV, but Alone is a fairly good representation of being alone in the wilderness with no resources. It is extremely unpleasant.
Cuttlefishcarlto Technology@lemmy.world•Linux for Microsoft Surface devices. It is reality!English4·2 years agoBuying new, sure, what you’re saying makes sense. I think buying used for the form factor or whatever and not wanting windows is a fine choice, though.
Cuttlefishcarlto PlayStation 5 (PS5) - [WE'VE MOVED TO LEMMY.WORLD/C/PS5] @lemmy.ml•Let's Talk About the Upcoming PS5 accessories: Project Q and PS EarbudsEnglish2·2 years agoI think it’ll definitely be making a round trip out of the house, and if that’s the case it’s a no from me. There is no reason it can’t do both - local streaming when local and remote streaming when remote, with all the restrictions/benefits of each.
We’ll see. I probably won’t buy one anyway, I’m fine with chiaki on my deck. Maybe if it’s a flop and goes on mega sale.
Cuttlefishcarltohomelab@lemmy.ml•APC rack with threaded holes instead of cage nut inserts11·2 years agoThey must have hired the guy we got rid of. Bummer, dude. Might have some luck at an IT recycler nearby. Contact them and tell them what you’re looking for.
Cuttlefishcarltohomelab@lemmy.ml•APC rack with threaded holes instead of cage nut inserts1·2 years agoI agree.
Does anything work on the threads in the back or are they the same?
It is incredibly unlikely all the threads are screwed, despite my story.
If they truly are, you should be able to buy replacement rails. If you do, I’d say go square if you can and use rack studs for ease of install.
Cuttlefishcarltohomelab@lemmy.ml•APC rack with threaded holes instead of cage nut inserts1·2 years agoUnfortunately threaded racks can be lots of different sizes - the most common in my experience are 10-32, 12-24 or M6x1. I just label racks with their screw size in a visible area to avoid confusion.
Someone at my current job ruined every single thread in one of the server rooms, so that’s definitely a possibility as well. I will say it is obvious when someone has done that once you take a close look, though.
Best bet is to just buy one of each screw size at a local hardware store and try them out. Maybe also see if there is a model number on the rack, but don’t hold your breath.
I never got into poe and didn’t have as much time in d2 as you, but I played the crap out of d2 original. I also couldn’t stand d3. What a disappointment.
I really enjoy d4. I was not going to buy it but a friend who I often agree with on game choices did and was looking for someone to play with so I joined. No regrets. It feels like a modern Diablo game to me. Cross platform works well, which is nice so we can play with another friend who was obsessed with d2 but became a console gamer over the years.
I am a lot busier than I was when d2 came out so I only have a single character, around level 60, but I’m looking forward to the first season.

Cuttlefishcarlto Diablo@lemmy.world•Will you try a new class for Season 1 or replay your previous one?English1·2 years agoI have been loving playing a necromancer, highly recommended. It’s just fun. I’ve tried all kinds of builds, keep coming back to corpse explosion though. Can get enough of them exploding corpses.
Probably going to play a barbarian for season 1. I want to do a leap attack build, whatever they’re calling that. Also looks fun.
Yeah that makes sense.
Is that because of new cycling infrastructure or was there already good infrastructure and this is simply a new thing that people are doing?
The one in the image here is an electric assist, hills are no problem. If you wanted to get it to work in the winter you could buy an electric assist trike. The bucket in the front is wide instead of long. A family in my neighbourhood drops their kids off at the school near us in theirs year round, unless the snowfall has been particularly heavy, but that is the exception instead of the rule.
Good god, it’s all beans over there, too! I don’t like beans. They’re sticky and squishy and irritating and they get everywhere.
If you liked the first one you’ll like them all! Murderbot was such a fun read all the way through.
