They don’t have the headcount because they don’t want to invest in Radeon, this has been a constant issue since they bought ATI. AMD is focused on their CPU business above all.

Microsoft told Digital Foundry that they had locked the specs of the Xbox Series consoles in 2016. In 2016 they knew the console would have an SSD, RT capabilities etc.

Gaming applications didn’t take advantage of the 24GB when it debuted on the 3090 and they still don’t do for the 4090 now. That’s not what drives these decisions.

The 900p iphone resolution is kinda funny due to the aspect ratio. I wonder how the pixel density stacks up vs 1080p.

Pretty much no game requires low input latency except competitive multiplayer games. Even something like Devil May Cry was played just fine on consoles with substantially worst latency.
