  • If you like tech, especially throw backs to old computers you might like Veronica explains. She has 2 accounts on mastodon, one seems more active and the other on seems mostly to just point to her YT channel.

just search for Veronica explains under users/channels and both will show up

I found her cause in addition to being new to the fediverse I’m also new to Linux and found some Linux stuff on her YouTube channel.

  • Nope, I even had one of those it was in maintenance. I had a set list of daily, weekly, monthly tasks , as well as w/e can up in between those, and on call certain days on a rotation with the other guy. As soon as our work was complete we could clock off and just go onto call frte remainder of our shift instead of mill around doing nothing waiting for a call. But with weekly and monthly routine maintenance tasks to do it was usually only a few days a week that we could knock off early and just be available if needed.

Then all of a sudden the manager got all whiny, “I have to be here mywhole shift , why don’t you guys” blah blah blah. Fucking cry baby.

Anyway I refused to follow their orders of staying till the end of my shift until I eventually was fired. Because I was following the shift I was hired to do, and given no valid reason of why the shift needed to change, other than some butthurt sack of shit.

So the tl:Dr of that is it might start that way but eventually some piss baby is going to get it changed on you.

Summer of 2000. My cousin got me into to the game he was already playing and got me all hyped up about it.

I started as a half elf druid in surefall glade cause kelethin was way too laggy.

We kept playing up to gates of discord , but eventually left for all the other mmos that were coming out around then. Coh, ffonline, eq2, and eventually wow, where I got seriously hooked until I finally burned out during MoP.

The. I spent a long time with no MMOs, and eventually went back to EQ during EOK, as a f2p and dinked around there till that first velious expansion, but never did much other than solo, which gave me a craving for classic EQ, where I tried various classic servers. P99 was “too” classic for me, but I found one that was locked to pop at the time and ended finally raiding and clearing PoTime, in era. Which was extremely satisfying to me, and a lot of fun. But keeping up with raising was too tie consuming so I once again quit.

Now I’m back to messing around on live 1 to 3 boxing just for fun. With no goals in mind , don’t even care about hitting max level just want to go see some of the places I haven’t been through all the expansions I’ve missed.

  • There are City of Heroes pirate servers out now, that’s a fun game but not really a good one to go into for a long haul as the end game is limited and getting to max level is trivial even on “hard” servers. But still fun to mess around on every once in awhile.

I also am an EQ fan and always end up playing EverQuest at some point. I’ll play on live, I’ll play on pirate servers, i just enjoy the game. But I try not to get sucked into it. Too easy for me to lose myself in that game.
