  • For laptop, go for i7 not only good for gaming, but it can handle years of new software with ease. The windows experience on a laptop with an i7 is similar to a good i5 desktop. This is for now. Fee years back the i7 laptop version was only slightly better than the i3 in desktops. Plus go for MSI, asus or gigabyte or alienware in laptops.

Alienware will be costly, but its way better built inside also.

  • Its just my opinion, that Gigabyte boards are trash and do cause a lot of weird new issues. But a lot of people do buy them, so who am I to judge overall. But RMA experience with Gigabyte solidified the hatred part.

Apart from that I feel(but not sure) that one or more VRMs are not getting enough current or are faulty. Have you connected 2x8 pin CPU power? Do you have a friend or someone who has a different mobo from the 600/700 series to test, if yes then thats the way to go.

  • OP, I did research myself, higher speeds ram do give good boost in fps for games and also keep your CPU less busy. First one not sure if you are gamer, but second one is for everyone because new gen Intel do use more power when utilised at load.

Its a good thing that they are also efficient in idling or in low load levels. I would suggest you to go only 2 sticks of RAM of highest you can put according to your motherboard(after upgrading bios)

I did testing on z790 tomahawk max and I got 8000mhz cl36, and that gave me 30-40 fps more than 6000mhz cl32 that I had for my AMD build.

If you have queries on my testing methods or results or any other related questions, DM me. Also corsair dominator 7200 cl 34 id very good ram in performance to price currently. Try searching IT store sites, you should get cheaper option for high speed.
