Not familiar with the project but:
Probably useful for anyone wanting to integrate monero into a project that (only) uses Go.
Secondly decentralisation is always good. (eg, an unlucky bug might not affect EVERYONE anymore).
Looks very interesting.
Blockchain bloat indeed is an issue here…
