A small power, they said. $100 billion, you said.

Being able to manually adjust my focus on and interest in what I’m doing.
Rich dude in charge of government blames government’s poor service on striking workers, instead of on the conditions that caused workers to strike in the first place, and at the same time delivers his opinion in a way that shows how disconnected he is from the reality that workers struggle through.
If counting the money was a problem to overcome intended by OP, they would’ve mentioned it. For the sake of the post’s intent I think it’s safe to assume the money is in large bills, which can be counted very quickly by a machine. Add to that that I can just use an ATM at the front of my bank, and things are much more fast and automatic.
Once it’s in my account, it’s in my account and I can use it right away
Bring it to my bank, deposit, then purchase online.
Though I’d leave it in my index fund, on average they perform better than actively managed accounts
The left one is more where conservatives think American politics is. /r/all leans more liberal and would consider American politics either in the middle or slightly to the right
Lot of people seem to think that being marginalized automatically gives those groups empathy towards other marginalized groups. Reality is that humans are extremely good at compartmentalization, and religion in particular trains those groups to be absolutist in what the doctrine says. I think they’d be pretty shocked to hear about racism by PoC, transphobia and biphobia by gay people, etc.
Seconding this, being able to group different instances together would be really cool
Yea the main reason I hated it was because I had to fuckin dig through a thread if I wanted to find a serious comment about whatever was posted. It wasn’t so much that low effort puns and shit were common, it was that they drowned almost everything else out in a lot of subs. Like even /r/science was turning into a memefest at the end.
I guess we’ll see how things develope here
No the endlessly repetitive puns were bad. They weren’t the only things, but they were absolutely bad.
I will forever believe the comic sans hate is one of the internet’s seemingly random circlejerks, like hating Imagine Dragons.
Apple doesn’t need an argument to stay with their own standards lol. Their reasoning is and has always been to make it harder and/or less appealing to leave their ecosystem in any way. Any arguments they make are fabricated after the fact
Nah Bethesda games are best left alone until the modders get a solid crack at it to shore up bugs and add features that probably should’ve been in the base game. Give that shit at least half a year imo
So still a fuck ton, I assume
What are you using to download it?
Nah the admins will probably change. Just for the worse. If things continue for too long, I fully expect them to kick out the mods for most of the subs and start making mods of scabs
Another conservation I had recently said that lemmygrad is apparently run by communists and harbor tankies. If I had to venture a guess, whoever wrote what you saw doesn’t understand the difference between nazis and communists, and that’s where it’s coming from. Or maybe there’s also a nazi instance here somewhere, but as long as you’re not part of their instance or an instance that federated with them, you won’t see any of that shit
Interesting, thanks. I guess I lucked out on which instance I joined lol. Is there a way to see what instances federate with which instances?
Yea I can’t support this kind of stuff enough. Science plays such a large role in society at this point that scientific literacy (or lack thereof in many cases) by the general population is incredibly important for shaping so many things about our lives. It’s fairly straightforward to parse studies if you’re already in a STEM field, but people who don’t have that background can really struggle with it (trying to explain some studies to my mom come to mind).
Honestly I wish some sort of “scientific literacy” course was a requirement for everyone as early as high school, along with things like personal finance and critical thinking courses
Nah “capitalist” in this sense just describes what economic policy the person supports. Same way socialists in the US don’t need to have an equal ownership in the means of production to be considered socialists.
