Valve isn’t pulling any anticompetitive moves though. They just try to secure profits by being the best instead of destroying everyone else that dares to compete with them.
Well, that’s… not wrong. The time-sharing OSes take turns assigning resources too tasks.
3·1 year agoThere’s a lot they could have done, locking down Linux isn’t that hard. Just look at Chrome OS, it’s based on Gentoo, yet it’s locked down completely. All they had.to do is lock the BIOS, enable secure boot and disable root access, and then it’s pretty much a locked system.
Nintendo was super competent with the Switch, their kernel is actually ridiculously secure. I’m pretty sure if Nvidia hadn’t messed up, we would still be scratching our heads with the Switch.
It’s not impossible or even hard to lock down Linux. Just look at Chrome OS, it’s Gentoo based, but with the bootloader locked and root access removed, it is pretty much immutable.
And Chromebooks just use off the shelf parts.

At about 24 years old I finally started feeling like an actual adult. Living alone, taking care of my things and my pets, having a stable relationship. Part of growing up is just accepting that there’s some of parts of you that will never grow up, I’m still a goofball and that’s just part of me.
Latine doesn’t bother me, at least you can pronounce it.
Latinx is something that English speakers that don’t understand the Spanish language came up with. It’s unpronounceable and annoying.
What’s the problem with the port? It’s considerably less prone to accumulate debris in my experience.
USB C cables are more fragile, but it’s designed that way so the ports are more durable. And I think having more durable ports is the right call.

2·2 years agoI use NileSoft Shell, a replacement for the stock Windows right click menu that adds the option to give you permission to a folder with 2 clicks. Worth it for GamePass mods.
Nope, native GamePass does not work on Linux. Not with Proton, not with Lutris. The only option is GP streaming using MS Edge.

That parity thing was debunked 2 years ago when a similar lawsuit against Valve was dismissed, their parity thing is for resold Steam keys, which Valve issues with no profit margin. Milberg London are trolls that tried to do the same lawsuit against Sony and PlayStation last year. Also got nowhere.
