I know someone who works in corporate McDonalds and the whole organization is pissed. Corporate didn’t bless this. They have an internal saying, “were not red or blue, were golden.” Meaning they stay out of politics. They don’t want to be anywhere near this shit

In your example tho, you want those numbers to stand out. The reason the affair was busy, was because of the numbers. You want the numbers to jump out, because that’s the important detail.

This is how all my work documentation is. There are “shoulds” and “shalls” in our processes. If you don’t do a “should,” you just need to have a good reason why not. If you don’t do a “shall,” you need a blessing from the person who owns the process, and someone else needs to agree that they accept all risk associated with not doing it, and they literally have to put their name next to it. It’s a big deal, as it should be, because most of those “shalls” are there for safety

One of my coworkers is a story of a single bike accident. He was riding uphill on a road when his front fork broke. He went over the handle bars and head/face first into the ground. He had his helmet on, and was still knocked out. He was found in the drainage ditch on the side of the road after he was reported missing.
He has no long term damage today, but that certainly wouldn’t be the case if he wasn’t wearing a helmet

I think its generational. I even see the generational differences across my office. when meeting with our customers for formal meetings, the 35+ engineers are in a suit, or at least a blazer. The 20 somethings are wearing torn jeans and burkenstocks
