  • Reading comprehension, even more challenging than dark souls nowadays eh? No idea what you’re even going on about now, but glad you got your nice rehearsed rant off your chest.

The main souls games have already gotten progressively more and more “””accessible”””, somewhat to the detriment of what originally made them appealing. Options are a mutually preferable alternative - people that enjoyed the original gameplay would still have their torture, or you can play on games journalist difficulty and have basically the same experience as watching someone else play on twitch.

  • The american constitution still being in effect is less of a “impressive feat” and more of a byproduct of “constitutionalists” using it to strangle progressivism. That’s not to say it’s bad that it exists, or that it’s not something say, Trump, could change easily (though him being in office alone is clear evidence it never mattered in the first place).

But it was always meant to change and adapt to the times. Militias made sense when we didn’t have a standing army and fighter jets. The issues of “states rights” is a long and storied tale of southern mouth breathers trying to find any way possible to make non whites lives miserable.

You might not need to hear this, but somebody else might.

“Being happy alone” doesn’t mean that being isolated is supposed to be a healthy or pleasant experience. We’re social creatures by nature, but you also can’t fixate on romantic relationships as the only way to “complete” yourself.

It’s harder and harder with the death of third spaces, but really, find something you enjoy in the real world and find your local community based around that thing. Make friends. Make enemies! Talk to people. Certainly understand your limits - about four hours into talking to new people, I will pretty much always need to crash afterwards, less if someone’s abrasive in some way. It still helps infinitely more than staying isolated in a funk.

  • IBEW bud from the other corner of the country! To be fair, I’m not at 5 years yet, but I get 4 float days, 10 vacation, 7 sick days, unsure what it’s like for normal hourly workers but as a shift worker I work any holidays on my schedule. It’s hilariously bad, I only semi-joke when I say I’d like to go on strike from my own union to make it actually work for me.

Oh, and despite working well over 400 hours of overtime, none of that translates into extra vacation time. Yet corporate is flabbergasted at poor retention rates.

Just for clarification - you don’t want ensure your party has, say, someone with the ability to talk to people, but you also don’t want to talk to your DM ahead of time to ensure you’re not playing a politics heavy game where a face will be absolutely necessary to make any progress?

Not everyone needs to be specced into being the perfect version of one of those four basic archetypes. Like you mention, “dedicated healer” is essentially gone in place of short rests and healing word spam. But won’t it feel awful goofy to have a player die as the three other 8 wisdom barbarians fail their medicine checks to stabilize?

Ah so we’re complaining that dumping constitution makes you die faster? Yeah if you roll up with 8 strength 8 dex and 8 con you’re going to get split in half by the first kobold you encounter, what a concept.

If you’re playing a bard with 14 charisma(or heaven forbid, 16 like a filthy minmaxer), you’re only a few percentage points behind your team on your vicious mockeries. You genuinely have to try to be truly useless.
