I was reading a lot of pundits talk about how we were soft in defense against West Ham. I didn’t really see it (though TBF, I didn’t watch the entire match). Their first goal was shoddy defense for sure. But their second was basically an unstoppable rocket. Meanwhile, we looks so damn sharp in attack.

I’m hoping we do offer Jorginho a 1 year extension, as the rumours are suggesting.

I think having English heritage is not trendy for several reasons.

• It’s seen as the default (as you pointed out), and thus boring.
• It’s not seen as exotic/fashionable because of stereotypes about the English.
• The English have traditionally been considered America’s enemies because of what happened two hundred and fifty years ago.
• Stories being passed down (and possible exaggerated) from earlier generations about how the English oppressed their ancestors.

They are in the Championship. I just looked and see they are about 2/3rds off the bottom of the table. It was either last season or the season before that they came really close to promotion back to the PL. They lost they playoff final. From what I’ve heard, one of Lampard’s biggest problems is that he’s a phenomenal man-manager and does great with inspiring his teams, but he’s tactically weak (compared to other top-tier managers).

That’s a misleading headline (not OP’s or Lemmy’s fault - they just relayed what the paper said verbatim). This is classic Daily Mail. They take bet-hedging, cautiously-crafted quotes and spin them into a absolute headline and story that suits their narrative.

And I’m not so sure about coastal Northern California / Southern Oregon. It’s marked on the map as being not that difficult. But I believe there are still plenty of paranoid, heavily-armed pot growers up in that area.
