On Jerboa - probably the most developed/supported Android Lemmy app - text input is so buggy that it’s practically unusable for me. Trying to edit the end of a comment will sometimes remove chunks from the middle, backspacing a few characters from the end of a word deletes the space in front of it etc.

Yeah I define myself as heterosexual cos I’m not attracted to people of the same gender as me. I’m not non-binary so being attracted to/sleeping with an enby person is not gay, at least according to how I define my own sexuality.

As an aside, it is technically possible to disable uploading/sharing when using torrents though it is generally frowned upon. There are also service such as debrid websites and torrent boxes that can download a torrent for you to then directly download over HTTPS from their servers.

A bunch of super wealthy dudes (including a bloke who went to space with Mr. Amazon and two members of one of Pakistan’s biggest petrochemical families) got into an obvious death trap after signing a waiver that said that there’s a decent chance that it’d kill them and now that it’s gone missing multiple governments are spending millions of dollars on an attempt to rescue them on the off chance that they’re actually still alive because the lives of the wealthy matter more than the lives of normal people.

There are a handful of alternatives but they’re nowhere near as mature or feature complete as Jerboa, and most are a few days/weeks old at most! There’s also an old app that was abandoned a while ago and probably doesn’t work anymore.

Nah some instances - like lemmy.world - allow users to create their own communities on their server, while others (such as beehaw) do not!

I’ve heard a few people mention that bug, IIRC you should be able to fix it by fully closing then reopening the app, might require you to clear the cache too.

It’s not exactly deep or super meaningful and I probably won’t remember much about the plot in a few years but I definitely enjoyed it when I watched it a couple days ago!

You’re not going to change my mind. Some auth-left states doing good things doesn’t change the fact that authoritarianism is an oppressive system that I think we should leave in the past. The USA occasionally does things that I agree with too, but that doesn’t make their government ethical, doesn’t excuse the atrocities they’ve committed, and doesn’t make liberal late-stage capitalism a good system to idolise.
