Youtube is owned by Google. People who are avoiding it typically do so for that reason, plus the enshittification of the platform over the past few years.

Don’t worry about it being “nothing” for the seasoned Linux people (not that I think of myself as an expert by any means)! With the exception of some pretentious assholes, I think most of us are just happy to see people embracing Linux and trying out new things. It’s great that you’re here. :) To echo another comment on here, don’t get discouraged when something inevitably goes wrong and you have to spend a long time troubleshooting! Happens to all of us, especially when you’re new. The good news is there’s a big community here to help you.
