I also bet there are people who haven’t already left that will abandon ship once the TPAs stop working. It’s not going to be fun getting stuck with their mediocre app, particularly since they seem to be testing the end of the mobile site.

Yeah, I figured Mars would be an underground territory since that seems to be where any nutrients might be anyway. Trying to form an atmosphere there suitable for life is likely impossible, but cave cities would be theoretically doable.

Although I don’t know how I feel about terraforming other planets in general. Humans have destroyed this one so much that I feel like giving us another is akin to not teaching a child not to destroy their stuff. On the other hand, it would just be cool to see what humans have accomplished.

I never realized that Minecraft used an outside musician for their songs. I always thought it was in house until one night my wife was listening to one of her sleepy time playlists and it suddenly started playing a Minecraft song. I asked why she was listening to Minecraft and she had no idea what I was talking about since she had never played the game. I checked her phone and sure enough it was on the artist’s album and not on a Minecraft one.

This would only be possible if the urban places really migrated to this kind of system since it isn’t entirely feasible in certain places of the US.

For instance I grew up in the US South, specifically in farm country. The closest grocery was 30 minutes away by car. School busses took an hour or more from pickup to dropoff. No one in those kinds of communities are going to stop using a car for biking or public transport because it would take way too long to complete tasks. Switching to electric cars is theoretically a good idea, but we don’t currently have enough infrastructure to support it (and these places in the South definitely don’t). Plus, there are places still on coal and gas for energy, so by increasing their energy needs, you are essentially increasing that much more environmental damage. (I am not against electric cars btw, just see the pros and cons.)

On the other hand, where I live now is a suburb of a huge metro that has groceries, schools, and healthcare everywhere. It would be completely possible for us to use only public transport and/or biking because the community is more dense. These are the places that really need the push for more environment-friendly services, which would decrease our destructive tendencies enough for those places who can’t jump on this to catch up.

I read someone suggest they may be worried about their legacy. The current Supreme Court is seen as a farce. Their actions have caused people to question their legitimacy, so they may be worried that they will be seen as the ones who destroyed the Supreme Court. In other words they might be seen as the bad guys and so are now trying to subdue a bit of that thinking. It’s not really going to work for them unless they consistently stop the corrruption, but these people are so easily bought.

But who knows really why they decided to go this route.

There is only one sub I use that has not attempted to do anything about the API issue. They stickied a post forwarded to an explanation of what is happening in support of the blackout, but it is an important time period for us so no one was going to allow a full shut down. It’s one of the few non-toxic places to discuss our fandom. Beyond that sub, the others don’t matter much to me.

Most gamers you know are married, but most gamers I know are not. Less people are getting married overall, so it statistically could make sense. Also, I’ve found that among my married friends, those who game tend to prerer different kinds of games. For instance I have a friend who PC games but her husband only plays the xbox. So the data probably has variations of that.

Not just that but the Switch has a lot of lovely indie games that are popular among women (Gris, Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion, Spiritfarer, Cult of the Lamb). Also Hades, but everyone likes Hades.

It sort of feels like someone should download all of reddit, pull out the actual good information, and discard the rest. That’s likely an impossible task though. It would take forever.

I’m not sure about the legality of it, though that’s something to look into. I am actually fairly certain I am my landlords very first tenant as they don’t seem to know what they are doing, and they bought the house all of a month before I moved into it. They may not even be aware of the issue. I should probably talk to them.

Oh this one’s a good one. I am always trying to find small independent businesses to use.

I feel you. I’m also picky about narrators. I’ve stopped listening to a lot of books because the narrator threw me off. It’s harder to enjoy the plot/characters if the storyteller has the wrong vibes.

Yeah! The first one is Shards of Earth. I have it sitting on my nightstand to read next since the final book of the trilogy just came out.

Thinking about it, I wonder if listening to an audiobook would help me with the phobia since I’m not usually bothered by people talking about spiders and, for whatever reason, I don’t create as much visualization in my head when I am listening to something as opposed to reading it. Especially since the narrator seems so good!

I really want to read Children of Time. I actually did start it and got half way through, but I have such an intense arachnophobia that I had to give up because I kept dreaming of spiders and waking up terrified. I enjoyed his writing style, though, and am curious about his new trilogy coming out.
