You serious?
His comments are literally regurgitated anti-trans talking points. It’s not out of context to call them ignorantly bigoted.
Good point. I’ll try harder to raise my kids to be more bulletproof.
You’re not wrong, but anyone who leaves shit like this or the stupid church dollars as a tip is a special kind of asshole.
They think they’re being edgy.
Good. Admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery.
You don’t HAVE to be bigoted trash. It IS possible to learn empathy for your fellow man, to understand that a person’s sexuality does not make them more or less of a person. It IS possible to change your ways. It IS possible to make the changes within yourself… the changes that you need to make in order to prevent a sad future where your own children disown you for being a shitheel goon. It is possible to be, you know… a good person.
But I also get the feeling that you are too obsessed with the smell of your own farts to have any real understanding of how dumb you sound. Who cares if no one else wants to smell your wafting shit odor? You’re perfectly happy simmering in your own idiot stink.
It’s not too late. You don’t have to be on the wrong side of history.
There goes my hero, watch him as he goes.
Lol. Crocker park? That’s not Akron, dude. Not even close. It’s in Westlake, which is in Cuyahoga county… and is considered a proper suburb of Cleveland.
That was the point.
To what “cool outdoor mall” are you referring? I’m not being glib, I honestly don’t know.
I don’t have a problem with Appalachia. I’ve moved all around the country and spent time living in almost every group imaginable. I agree that the people themselves are likely to be lovely once you get to know them. My issue is that I’m not fond of people who actively vote against their self interest. When you get ab hour or two outside metropolitan centers in Ohio, you’re deep into Trump country… by which I mean people who have numerous flags in their yards, stickers all over their trucks. Not to mention an unhealthy amount of confederate battle flags.
The Maga cult is a literal lifestyle choice in parts of Ohio, and if I were not a cis white male, I wouldn’t feel comfortable in these areas. The reason why is because these people who REALLY ARW warm and friendly when you first meet them, they are the same people who have alarming amounts of Trump paraphernalia. It’s a cult. Plain and simple. And no amount of “they’re hearts are in the right place” makes up for the fact that they not only vote for, but loudly share their deep love for a man who literally represents the absolute worst of America.
The people aren’t the problem. Their beliefs are.
It’s been a while since I’ve lived in that area, but the greater Columbus area is pretty nice. Generally speaking, as long as you are within an hour of bigger cities like Cleveland, Columbus or Cincinnati you’ll be fine. Things get pretty red further out. There’s parts of outer Ohio that are straight up Appalachia.
That’s actually a great movie, and it’s probably one of my most watched DVDs.
It’s some of the best early mo-cap cgi in cinema history. Photorealistic without diving into the uncanny valley.
And storyline is very engaging. It hits poignant notes about pacifism, environmentalism and reincarnation without coming off as preachy or condescending.
People who say Akron is bad are people who have never experienced living in a bad neighborhood.
In the theater? Boogie Nights.
My friend and I didn’t know a goddamn thing about Paul Thomas Anderson when we went to the premiere. All we knew was that Heather Graham got naked in this movie about porn stars. We’d both had massive crushes on Heather ever since License to Drive… A crush which was only strengthened by her appearance in Swingers.
It turned out that the great nudity was only a bonus to what ended up being an amazing film with brilliant performances from everyone… INCLUDING Marky Mark. My friend and I ended up going to see Boogie Nights on the big screen close to 20 times. It helped that I had just gotten a job as an usher at a theater when the movie got it’s second run, so we could see it for free. It also became a point of local pride since PTA was North East Ohio television royalty, and my friend and I wanted to follow in his footsteps
Ketamine was both the cause of and solution to a lot of my mental health problems.
I miss Josta. That was my OG energy drink.
