  • I host Rocket.Chat for my wife’s business. The free self-hosted version now allows up to 50 users before having to purchase a license (was 25 prior to the version 7 update). If you kick a user you simply deactivate their account and regain the user slot. Rather than deleting a user completely which would additionally delete any messages they’ve posted.

    Easy to host, easy to upgrade. Mobile apps both IOS and Android work well.

    I wanted to use Zulip as I felt the interface was cleaner. But the 10 user limit was a deal breaker.





  • I spent the money on the Tailwind smart opener. The app has a built in smart connection that will open/close the door on arrival so long as the phone is paired to a Bluetooth device (settings programmable in the app).

    That said I don’t actually use the app for my open/close function. I integrated Tailwind into my home assistant setup. For my garage door (we have 2) it opens/closes the correct one for my bike based on my phone being paired to my Cardo. I setup the same for my wife’s bike. And for the other door it functions based on my wife’s phone being paired to her car Bluetooth. Works perfectly every time, as long as the Internet doesn’t fail me.

    Looking back I know now there were definitely less expensive options to achieve the same thing. And had I had more time to tinker with it all I likely would have built something by hand. I just needed something that worked with minimal effort or tinkering. When it comes to home automation it has to work the first time or the wife doesn’t approve. 😂

    My general rule with my bike… Any sign of a hole is not worth the risk. Is it fixable? Maybe? Is the risk worth the cost of replacement, for myself and my family… Absolutely not.

    That said, take it to a shop and get the word from an expert. Don’t trust your life to the opinions of the Internet based off of a picture of your tire.






  • Doubt this is the issue. This post prompted me to check my own Life360 setup and I have the same message the OP does. “Integration Requires Attention” in my notifications. The integration fails to authenticate.

    I don’t have a solution, just adding that the issue is likely not related to a time sync problem.

    This is likely due to an API change from Life360 itself. This happened in July as well if I remember correctly.

    I setup everything I was able (odd exception here or there) in HA and expose devices/entities to Alexa. This allows me to setup better automations using HA, and still control devices via voice in Alexa. I have several devices that are cloud dependent and have found HA to be far more stable than Alexa with regards to connectivity and response. HA and Alexa both definitely have their place in my home, but HA does the bulk of the grunt work.
