not in the vannilla app no. if your on android molly.im (a signal fork) gives some more granulated control over backups & database control in general.

if they have their number hidden you cannot unfortunately. would love to see a feature built into the app to change contact info separate from device contacts. they already port said info to the desktop app when linking so I can’t imagine it would be difficult.
