@missingno @carp4lemmy that’s fair, but i’d still be concerned about it with the way everything is shifting around splash as well. The alternatives are mostly all getting better in the same patch (zap was already on a similar or even higher tier by a lot of JP and a few western teams). I guess depends on whether zap prio goes down with jet, but I can see a meta that revolves around popping kill specials (zooka/jet) and not losing any space w soda respawn which imo is worse for the game
@missingno @carp4lemmy tbh i’d be slightly concerned for the health of the meta if splash were to get hit. BP and Splash are basically the only 2 weapons that
have a special that can force in on hallways, can reliably get those specials, and aren’t a straight up liability in terms of fighting power. If both those weapons were to get hit when cooler is already on the rise, it might just be permafighting without any chance of actually getting in (which already happens to a certain degree)
@missingno @carp4lemmy i guess it just kind of depends on what you like in the meta and how you see splash rn. id be for a splash nerf if it was keeping something like chumps or wave breaker out of the meta, but in its current state to me it feels more like the lynchpin to the current meta, keeping cooler from making the game too fast and making the maps feel more playable, while still getting crabs countered by jet+zooka and main weapon countered by a lot of midlines.
