Well, the good news is you can always jailbreak your Kindle to install KOReader which plays nice with Wallabag.
KOReader is basically a custom app that has much more integration and plug in compared to built in Kindle app.
Think of your current Kindle UI as “default app” and KOReader as another app that’s much more powerful than Kindle app, and you can always switch between Kindle “app” and KOReader “app” at anytime so you don’t even lose any built in Kindle functionality.
Personally I found KOReader to be super useful for these:
Dark mode on Kindle Paperwhite 3 which doesn’t support it natively
Use gesture to increase or reduce Kindle backlight
Connect to cloud storage to download books directly
Download article using RSS for web serial (shoutout to Pale lights) and basically read my web serial in Kindle
Set WiFi to be auto off when Kindle is sleeping and auto connect when out of sleep mode.
Have you tried it? Any improvement compared to Yuzu?
I would, if long term durability is not a concern and the price is not too damn expensive.
Basically if money is no issue.
I don’t see a reason to use Lemmy app on desktop though. Feels more natural to access Lemmy and Reddit through browser if I am on desktop.
Ah yes, I believed it’s a webapp packaged as app. And it still follows iOS style even on Android. But maybe I am just a simple guy who favours function over form, I always like simple and functional design over polish.
I found Voyager to be quite similar to Apollo. It’s available for both iOS and Android. Plus it’s open source.
That’s a very interesting read. Thank you.
Another day, another Anbernic device 😀
Ecosia as search engine because I want to support their tree planting.
I don’t have favorite browser. I use Firefox for balance of convenience and privacy. It gets the job done.
Any idea what languages this keyboard support? I can’t use any open source keyboard yet as all doesn’t have good multi lingual support and typing.
No u do it
True. I just wanted to add that comment just because the other poster make it sounds like PineTab2 is an alternative for Purism tablet - which is competing with iPads and Android tablet. It gave me false hope for a moment until I searched some reviews online and see it is a totally different device category.
So I just replied to clarify just in case other people got the false impression too.
From this blog review on June 2023, it seems that camera, WiFi and bluetooth are still not working properly.
PineTab2 seems more like a developer tinkering/testing device rather than a Linux tablet alternative for Android/iPad.
T480 if you can find it around that price. Or any Thinkpad with 8th generation Intel CPU. (L380, X380)
Japan and Korea. Ain’t no such thing in South East Asia.
I agree. Initiative to encourage people to use public transport and less reliance of private car is always great.
Just finished The Captain. It’s so good. I love both Will Wight and Alec Hutson and it seems we have similar taste (good taste 😀)
Any other book recommendations?
Yeap, unless your Kindle is too old or too new. You can check if it will work here: https://kindlemodding.org/jailbreaking/kindle-models
