You rarely have to deal with swarms with bots anyway. This is why the low volume of fire weapons like the snipers and the dominator are really good to use in the bot front.
Edit: for context, I typically run AC, Dominator, Redeemer, Stun Grenades on Level 7 Difficulty.
I run Scorcher, Quasar, Stun Grenades, and Grenade Pistol against bots in levels 7-9. I love being able to 2 tap the Striders with the Scorcher as well as quickly be able to take out small patrols before they can get a flare off.
Maybe that’s my problem. I’ve only tried it on bugs.
It is the absolute truth on bots. Bring the eruptor with it and you’ll massacre.
I would think both would be explosion overkill. Don’t you need something to deal with swarms of smaller stuff?
Nope, just shoot the ground behind the small stuff and bring the machine pistol.
