    I’m a dude. Your penis shouldn’t have urinary retention under normal circumstances… like occasionally when you’re very dehydrated or held it too long, yeah it happens and that advice is useful. But it’s not something that should happen every time.

      I literally just saw a urologist and would have had this issue detected. The purpose of the visit was related to fertility ( all good lol ) but if something was wrong it would have been found. The entire system was checked and discussed.

      It is a very common anecdote that people generally “shake” when they finish peeing, to ensure all is empty. This technique is just a more definitive version of that.
