Yeah like, it’s not even that there’s NO job for cops in this situation it’s just that that job is; make sure there’s nothing obvious that’s going to hurt the paramedics. I can’t imagine,“man on the ground flopping like a fish and occasionally stopping to mumble incoherently” and “crying wife on the ground next to him” would flag as dangerous but their conflict deescalation classes apparently teach “everything is 2 seconds away from killing you so try to shoot it before that.”
