But those people are already using consoles because they find PC too confuse. This advice is for people who already have a gaming PC. Seems a waste of money to get something that can play triple a titles and then just relegate it to working on only a monitor and picking up a console to only play on the TV.

That’s what at least a $1000+ and then another S500-$700 and needing to buy games for another platform and internet subscription? Maybe doubling dipping on the same game along the way? I don’t see the selling point for a PC gamer.

It was even worse the previous two generations to do that since games running at 60 fps was a rarity so if you had a gaming PC it was the best device to actually take full advantage of the resolution and TV refresh rate. Otherwise it meant going nearly two whole decades of 30 and sometimes sub 30 fps gaming.

And now Sony games come to the PC after a delay and Xbox exclusives is no longer a thing. There’s less incentive than before for a PC gamer to put money into a console.

I thought this discussion was about Sony continuing to invest in the console ecosystem, not specifically for people who already had a gaming PC.

I do agree support is getting better quickly but it still has a ways to go, at least to match the compatibility of consoles.

No it was just a comment to getting a gaming PC and a console. I’ve had a PS3 and PS4 for just the exclusives and encountered the drawbacks as a PC gamer used to PC performance being forced to use a console for the exclusives. So console is not an area I’m unfamiliar with, and personally over two console generations I found my PC to be the better living room experience, since PS3 and PS4 fell short of performance expectations.

So this gen being able to not bother with one and just opt for only a hdmi cable was a dream come true as opposed to PC gaming and console combo. And looking at the console games that ended up trapped to being only playable on the console it was released while PC games I bought during the same time frame being playable and upscaling with the hardware to run better has made me more satisfied with my PC game purchases.

Oh my bad, yes we were (I brought it up lol) comparing consoles and PCs. You are correct.
