Russia has lost 421,000 troops in Ukraine in 2024, the “highest price since the start of the invasion,” Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said in a Telegram post on Dec. 28.

The figure includes both dead and wounded and is part of the total losses of approximately 785,000 Russian troops since the beginning of the invasion in February 2022.

    Insane figure, 786k is about half of Russia’s reported total active military personal.

      That is assuming all the bodies are Russian. North Koreans are a chunk and whatever the PMCs are adding to the tally aren’t technically Russian either. It’s still a huge amount but muddy.

        They estimated 1/4 of NKs are casualties and roughly 12k NKs. So 3k casualties is a lot, it isn’t much of this number.
